Community and Educational Events:
Birds in Focus: BBPA hosts a display of paintings and photo prints by local artists at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre, followed by an informal reception and visual presentations by expert birders and nature photographers. One of our members also leads a workshop on wildlife photography, including practicing techniques in the Park
Birds on the Bay: Join BBPA and the Delta Naturalists Society’s informal birdwatchers for a 2 1/2 hour amble through the beautiful natural regional park overlooking Boundary Bay followed by snacks at historic Cammidge House, every Quarter on a Wednesday.
Mother’s Day Tea with the Birds: As part of the celebration of International Migratory Birds Day, BBPA hosts an event at Cammidge House which includes interactive displays, guided walks, a theme-related presentation and refreshments.
Sunday in the Park: Celebrates Father’s Day at Centennial Beach with the Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions Club serving a pancake breakfast while entertainers provide background music and local groups set up educational displays.
Summer Car Boot Sales: Twice a month in June, July and August and once in September, we invite everyone to bring their unwanted treasures in their cars to Centennial Beach where they can be displayed for sale. Saturday morning brings out all those people who walk on the beach trails and enjoy some relaxed shopping on the way. This event has become a tradition both for the sellers and the buyers and is a major fundraiser for the committee.
Student Involvement: BBPA recruited and funded a mapping study by BCIT students to aid in developing a comprehensive inventory of the distribution of specific invasive species in the park during the fall and winter of 2015/2016.
