As we have done for a number of years, we partnered with the Tsawwassen/Boundary Bay Lions Club for the very popular Pancake Breakfast held in Boundary Bay Park on Father’s Day.
As usual, the Lion’s Club’s pancakes were a delight (Aunt Jemima would have been proud) and complete with sausages and scrambled eggs, direct from the griddle to you.
Our volunteers helped with clearing tables, ensuring garbage was properly disposed of and doing whatever we could to make the event successful and fun.
The local band, Kindred Spirits, was on hand again with their lively music and several organizations, such as the Delta Naturalists Society and Metro Vancouver Parks Interpreters, had entertaining and educational exhibits for all to enjoy.
For the first time, Scouts Canada joined us with their ambulance in the unlikely event first-aid might be required. We were all happy that their services weren’t needed.
This was also the first time the new picnic shelters were used , saving the money and time to rent and put up large tents.
Participation was excellent and everyone seemed to have a good time
