For several years now, Ursula Easterbrook has single-handedly organized our Birds in Focus events.
Visual Presentation – March 14:
The Visual Presentation at Tsawwassen Arts Centre: 80 visitors – more than ever before! – enjoyed over two hours of wonderful and diverse presentations by four bird experts and/or nature photographers, as well as light refreshments. Several people commented that the $5 admission cost was a bargain, to say the least, for an evening of educational entertainment.
Volunteers from the Boundary Bay Park Association and Delta Naturalists Society helped out by looking after refreshments, providing technical support to the presenters and handling the entry fees.
Photo Workshop – March 23:
The Photo Workshop – As usual, this popular offering attracted the maximum number of participants (20+) for an effective learning experience presented by our own photographer: Ursula Easterbrook. One woman was so enthusiastic about the workshop she got out of her sick bed to attend. She wisely thought better of it when she saw the number of people around the table and realized she might make them sick as well. We wish her better luck next year.
Following a classroom-style session of tips and techniques, participants had an opportunity to test out these ideas while walking through Boundary Bay Park.
Light refreshments were provided by BBPA volunteers.
